The 2008 NextCruise is a new event – new in concept and content. Held in association with the Woodward Dream Cruise, widely viewed as the world’s largest automotive spectator and participant event, NextCruise provides an additional environmentally friendly and future-looking dimension.

NextCruise will provide the public with multiple opportunities to check out the latest in environmentally-friendly cars, trucks and crossovers, even as they celebrate the 2008 Dream Cruise – helping expand the relevance of that huge event from a single-minded retrospective into a celebration of the automobile, past, present and future.

The event brings nine of the world’s largest automakers to Woodward Avenue – more precisely, to the link parks along Woodward, in the City of Pleasant Ridge, where they will display some of their newest production Green Machines, as well as environmentally-friendly concepts. The manufacturers will also provide insight into technologies which could bring even more advanced, green technologies to the road in the future.

Today’s and tomorrow’s Green Machines challenge the stereotypes that environmentally-friendly automobiles require customers to make significant sacrifices: in size, features, comfort and, especially, performance. NextCruise provides a venue for manufacturers to display future Green technologies and engage the public in understanding that Green doesn’t have to be Mean. Many of the newest Green Machines are roomy, well-equipped and, in keeping with the spirit of the Dream Cruise, able to deliver surprising performance.
